How Long Does Solar Panel Installation Take?
The Initial Survey
The surveyor will need to assess your roof. This includes taking into account the structure of your roof, the pitch of your roof and the orientation that your roof takes. Scaffolding Goes Up
Scaffolding will be put up around your property for approximately half a day to set up a safe working platform for the installers to work from. You will need to make arrangements for access for the scaffolding to go up and down from your property. This includes space for the scaffolding on your driveway and on the pavement outside your property.
The Installation Day
The installation of the solar panels, including mounting rails, the panels themselves and cabling to connect everything together, can take around a day for an average sized domestic property. However, larger more complex roofs could require up to two days to complete installation. DNO Notification and Grid Sign-Off
The formal approval by your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) for you to start exporting electricity from your solar panels is usually notified by your approved solar installer.
